Public Meeting – Maybank Highway Improvement Project – April 27

Charleston County will hold a community meeting to provide information to the public on the upcoming construction of the Maybank Highway Improvements Project.

Members of the community are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn about phases of construction and hear from the project team. There will be a brief presentation at the start of the meeting and staff will answer construction questions following the presentation.

Date:
Thursday, April 27, 2017
6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Location:
Haute Gap Middle School
1861 Bohicket Rd
Johns Island, SC 29455

This phase of the project includes the continuation of the lane from the Paul J. Gelegotis Bridge to the existing right turn lane at the intersection of River Road. The widening will help alleviate the afternoon congestion onto Johns Island caused by the merging of the two travel lanes. Bicycle and pedestrian accommodations are also included.

NOTE: We want to emphasize that this meeting is to discuss what to expect during construction for this phase of the project ONLY. This meeting is not intended to discuss other projects, design, development, etc.
