In 4-6 weeks, a new restaurant will be opening up right outside the Seabrook Gate. It’s called McCann’s Irish Pub. It has four owners, all of whom come from Ireland, having moved to the US six years ago. They also own a pub in Mount Pleasant.
The food will be fresh and local. It will also be typically Irish. The menu will include bangers and mash, fish and chips, Shepherds Pie, Irish stew and corned beef. There will also be a unique dessert, Bailey’s Cheese Cake, which will be made on the premises.
There will be a full bar which will include a variety of Irish whiskeys as well as a complete assortment of wines and other liquors. Hours will be 11am to 11pm Monday through Thursday and Sundays; they will be open until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.
The restaurant premises are undergoing some substantial alterations. The owners want to affect a traditional Irish cottage look which they are striving to be family oriented. There will be a game room in the back of the restaurant for children. There will also occasionally be live Irish music.
I know we wish them all well.
