Ever wonder?

A reader recently inquired if solar panels would still provide electricity in the event of a power outage. Our research suggests they might but it depends on several factors. Homes equipped with solar power using photovoltaic (PV) technology “may lose power in the event of a grid outage if their system does not include some form of energy storage,”  according to Third Sun Solar.  That energy storage and battery backup can be prohibitively expensive.  Click here to read more from the Environmental Defense Fund website.
