Boardwalk 1A (Bobcat Trail) will be closed indefinitely due to safety concerns. The boardwalk is in SIPOA’s capital plans for consideration in 2019, however due to weather events and age, it has deteriorated more rapidly than anticipated. The General Operations and Maintenance Committee (GOMC) along with SIPOA staff have reviewed the condition of this boardwalk and feel that it is becoming unsafe due to deteriorating deck boards and structural supports. In upcoming months GOMC will research and review options and timelines, and bring their recommendations to the Board for consideration.
