La Fogata at Bohicket Marino is Open

There’s a new restaurant at Bohicket Marina called La Fogata, which stands for “The Bonfire.” It’s Mexican-owned and run, it has a full liquor license and it is located right above the ice cream store in the Marina.

La Fogata is owned by Azucena Mandeyano. This is the first restaurant she has owned, but you may have already run into her as she ran a food truck on the property that Sidi owns. Various members of her family are staffing the restaurant as she attempts to get started, but she is hoping to hire full-time help locally, if possible.

La Fogata will be open daily from 11am to 10pm. The menu is extensive. It includes beef carne, pork carnitas, chile verde, fajitas, chicken pollo ranchero, seafood, tacos, burritos, enchiladas and tortas. There’s guacamole and chips, which you’ll be happy to hear are complimentary.

There is seating inside the restaurant, as well as on a deck located right outside the restaurant. If you sit on the deck, you will get a view of some of the most magnificent sunsets seen anywhere on the island.

We wish Azucena and her family the best of luck in their new endeavor. We always like to see new restaurants opening up in our neighborhood and we hope they will be with us well into the future.
