SIPOA’s Audubon Sustainable Community Award Featured in CMIA Today

By now you’ve certainly heard about Seabrook Island’s award as the first community in South Carolina to earn the designation of  “Audubon International Certified Sustainable Community.”  You might also have noticed the new sign posted at the Gatehouse to promote awareness of this important award.  Numerous Seabrookers participated over a seven-year period in the work that led to this achievement.

Seabrook Island and the award are featured in the Spring 2018 edition of CMIA Today, the publication of the Community Managers International Association.  CMIA is a professional organization that supports, trains, and certifies managers of large-scale community associations such as SIPOA.   (Our Executive Director, Heather Paton, is a Director in the CMIA organization.)  The article profiles our island and the importance of the Audubon award, and its photographs are a testament to the unique beauty of this special place.  To see the full issue of CMIA Today, click here.
