Vote logoThe Town of Kiawah Island has posted a video of the May 30th “Meet the Candidates” event that that was jointly sponsored by the Town of Kiawah Island and Town of Seabrook Island. The two Republican primary candidates for Charleston County Council District 9, incumbent Joe Qualey and Jenny Costa Honeycutt, responded to our communities’ questions as posed by Mayors Craig Weaver and Ron Ciancio. Click here to watch the video. Our thanks to the Town of Kiawah for making and posting the video to allow those who could not attend the ‘Meet the Candidates’ event to see the candidates in action and understand their stand on important issues affecting District 9.

To remind Seabrook voters:
-The election will be held on Tuesday, June 12th.
-Polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm.
-Seabrook Island residents will vote at the Lake House as usual.
-Please remember to bring a valid, unexpired photo ID to the poll.

In South Carolina, there is one Election Day for both Republican and Democratic Primary candidates. Voters are not required to vote for candidates in the political party to which they are registered. Therefore, when checking in at the desk, the Poll Manager will ask each voter in which political party’s Primary he or she wishes to vote. This is to ensure the correct ballot, Republican or Democratic, is received.

Remember, Kiawah and Seabrook Islands make up an important part of Charleston County Council’s District 9 jurisdiction and a good voter turnout will make sure the voices of Kiawah and Seabrook residents are heard.
