The Bookmobile Is Back!

The Charleston County Public Library Bookmobile that comes to Freshfields was out of commission for repairs, but it is now back the first and third Tuesdays of the month.  It is parked in the lot behind Hege’s and BB&T.  They stay there from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.

The schedule for the summer is June 19, July 3 & 17, August 7 & 21.

They have a good selection of books on the bus, but you can also request books online and pick them up at the Bookmobile.  You can also return books there.  Charleston County has had a Bookmobile, or Book Truck as it was known, since 1931.

If you don’t already have a library card, it is easy to get one.  Click here for the details.  You can even sign up for a library card at the Bookmobile!

To check out a book online to be picked up by you at the library or brought to Freshfields by the Bookmobile, go to http://www.ccpl.org.  Once there, click on the three horizontal bars on the upper left.  Scroll down to log in.  After logging in, you can search by author, title, subject, keyword or even subject phrase.

The closest branch of the Charleston County Public Libary is John;s Island Regional Library, 3531 Maybank Highway, just past the Bi-Lo shopping center.  Call the library at (843) 559-1945 if you have questions about their programs and services.
