Six couples from Seabrook Island recently returned from a fantastic golfing trip in Ireland which was organized and led by the Club’s Head Golf Pro, Brian Thelan. The group included Tom and Susan Colatsky, Flo and John Gilson, Liz and Henry Devens, Ted and Ruth Ann Henderer, Julie and Warren McCulloch, Nancy Jones and Bruce Wallingford. Peggy and David McCarthy joined for some golf rounds, as they were already in Ireland.
They played seven incredible courses in seven days: Spanish Point, Lahinch (shown), Dooks, Waterville, Old Head, Ballybunion, and Tralee. Based in Killarney, all golf courses but Lahinch, where located in or near the Ring of Kerry, in southeastern Ireland. Although they were prepared for the worst, the weather was dry and warm. In fact, it was the driest spell in Ireland in 42 years! This was a wonderful trip with sightseeing squeezed between golf and great camaraderie creating lasting memories.
