Four St. Johns High School Seniors were awarded scholarships at Kiawah-Seabrook Exchange Club’s “Youth and Education Awards” Dinner on Wednesday evening, May 1, 2019, at the Turtle Point Clubhouse on Kiawah Island. Pam Paroli, Youth and Education Committee Chairperson, welcomed students and their parents and offered congratulations for their amazing academic accomplishments.
All four will be attending South Carolina Universities in the fall. Twin sisters, Sierra, and Tiarra Green will be freshmen at Clemson University, Odalis Diaz is enrolled at USC Bluffton and Ishmael Echeverria will attend USC Columbia. Tiarra Green was selected as Exchange Club’s 2019 “Youth of the Year” and was awarded a $4,000 scholarship. Sierra, Odalis, and Ishmael received $3,000 scholarships.
This annual event honoring local youth on our islands is always a favorite of Exchange members and guests. These scholarships are made possible by the generous donations from individuals and businesses advertising in Exchange Club’s Handbook Directory.
