For the first time ever, Charleston Crafts Cooperative Gallery is proud to host and organize the 40th Piccolo Spoleto Crafts Show as part of the annual Piccolo Spoleto Festival. The Craft Show will take place over two weekends: Memorial Day Weekend on Friday May 24 – Monday May 27 and the following weekend, Friday May 31 – Sunday June 2. The show takes place in Wragg Square, in downtown Charleston at 342 Meeting Street, between Charlotte Street and Ashmead Place. The Show is open Fridays and Saturdays 10 – 6, Sundays 11 – 5 and Monday from 10 – 5 (on the first weekend). Admission is free.
Charleston Crafts is celebrating it’s 30th Anniversary this month and will strive to provide festival attendees with an overview of high quality original works currently being created in a variety of craft media. Approximately fifty fine Craft artists from Charleston, and around the US, participate in one or both show weekends. There is even a participating artist from Seabrook Island who is also an active member of Charleston Craft Gallery.
Both emerging and experienced craft artists will be exhibiting and selling their handmade jewelry, one-of-a-kind wearables, unique art objects in clay, glass, metal and wood, photography and prints, and special gift items. Attendees will be able to meet the makers with various artist demonstrations available as well.
