Since its opening in June, the exhibit has been especially well-loved by the museum’s older child visitor, ages 7-10. This is the perfect way to beat the summer heat before heading back to school.
The exhibit was developed by the Montshire Museum of Science in Norwich, Vt., with funding from a National Science Foundation grant awarded to seven museums. The exhibit includes 12 different hands-on stations illustrating the simple mechanisms commonly found in toys, and lets visitors create their own toy-like combinations of gears, pulleys, linkages, cams and circuits.
