Program Update: CSO Concert on Seabrook Island – September 22

We have additional information about the program for the Town’s CSO concert. The Masterworks portion of the program, conducted by Ken Lam, CSO Music Director, will include Beethoven’s “Egmont Overture,” Dvořák’s “Slavonic Dance Op. 46 No. 8 in G minor,” “Three Dances” from Smetana’s The Bartered Bride, and Johann Strauss’ “Blue Danube.” The Pops portion, conducted by Yuriy Bekker, CSO’s Principal Pops Conductor, will feature a medley from Fiddler on the Roof, Leroy Anderson’s “Fiddle Faddle,” “The American Frontier” (an arrangement of traditional folk songs by Calvin Custer), and Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes.”

The concert will take place at 4:00 pm on Sunday, September 22, on the lawn of the Seabrook Island Lake House, 2319 Seabrook Island Road. (In the event of rain, the performance will take place at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3871 Betsy Kerrison Parkway, Johns Island.)

Admission is free, and you should bring your own lawn chairs or blankets. Parking at the Lake House will be limited, so carpooling and alternate modes of transportation such as walking, biking, and LSVs are recommended.

Seventy-five (75) SIPOA Gate passes will be available upon request for off-island visitors who wish to attend the concert; the passes must be picked up at ​​Seabrook Island Town Hall, 2001 Seabrook Island Road, during the Town’s normal business hours (Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm).
