The Charleston Museum: Happy Hour History March 19

Charleston Museum 3-19

The Charleston Museum presents a new twist on Happy Hour in a new, and slightly scandalous, three-part event series this spring. The first Happy Hour History event will be hosted at the Heyward-Washington House on Thursday, March 19 at 5:30 pm. In the garden of the Heyward-Washington House, with light bites and beverages, guests will learn the story behind William Hogarth’s Marriage A-la-Mode series with Stephanie Thomas, Chief of Education. The six-part series by Hogarth, created between 1743 and 1745, is a satire of a conventional marriage within the English upper class. Full of symbolism, Hogarth’s works are still scandalous, today. Join us in the garden for a story that’s best enjoyed with friends and a beverage.

Registration is required, space is limited. Click here for tickets and information.
