As we are fast approaching our annual meeting, our concerns overreaching the necessary quorum to conduct business have once again emerged. Unfortunately, this seems to have become an annual event.
So, what happens if we do not achieve the quorum?
One of the most important issues is that we are not able to accept the new budget which may affect SIPOA’s ability to conduct its day-to-day business.
What does that mean? How can that possibly affect me?
This may concern you as a property owner if SIPOA is unable to fund some services like trash /yard waste pick up; security/gatehouse; roads, drainage systems maintenance; our staff and facilities such as the Lake House, Oyster Catcher, and the POA Offices on Landfall Way until the new budget is approved.
What can I do?
In a word, VOTE! If you are an E-Voter, look for the email sent to you from” Association Voting” (firstname.lastname@example.org). If you cannot find it, check your Spam Folder. If you are a Paper Voter, it may be too late to complete your ballot, and mail it in so it is received by the deadline (8:00 am, Saturday, 2/13/2021). This means that you would need to drop it off in the drop-box at the SIPOA Building at 1202 Landfall Way or complete the voting process electronically.
For any voting assistance or questions, please contact Rhiannon Schalaudek, SIPOA Communications Administrator at 843-725-1563, or email, email@example.com.
Thanks to all for voting in this important election.
