Seabrook Island Utility Commission is pleased to announce that it will be installing three new generators to provide power when the Island loses electricity due to storms. The new generators are being purchased in partnership with a FEMA grant whereby SIUC pays one fourth of the cost.
Beginning on Monday, May 24, 2021, work will commence at:
- Pump Station 3, located at 2999 Seabrook Island Road
- Pump Station 10, located at 634 Double Eagle Trace
- Pump Station 11, located at 3210 Seabrook Island Road
Emerald Electric will perform the installations during normal business hours. This should cause no disruption in service and minimal traffic issues.
The projected end date for installation is July 20, 2021.
