Swim Across America Returns to Kiawah on August 15

Swimmers of all ages and levels are invited to take part in the Swim Across America’s (SAA) fourth Kiawah Island charity swim event. Your participation will help to “Make Waves to Fight Cancer” and raise money locally for cancer research at Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina.

The Open Water Swim will take place on Sunday, August 15, with mandatory check-in from 6:30 to 7:30 am, followed by a rolling start at 8:30 am.

Swimmers may participate in 1.5-mile and 0.5-mile swim or SAA My Way (virtual) options. This is not a competition, but a fundraising event for everyone, both swimmers and volunteers. Choose a distance to swim or sign up as an event volunteer. Click here for registration information.

That evening, Freshfields Village will host an event on the Village Green and live music from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. The community fundraising event will include live music, Olympian appearances, an auction and participating discounts from stores and restaurants. All event details can be found here.
