The Gibbes Museum of Art hosts its annual Antique Stroll next Wednesday, Dec. 8. Charleston’s top antique dealers, vintage vendors and design experts will set up displays on the first floor of the museum. This year’s theme highlights “A Few of My Favorite Things,” and local vendors will share stories behind some of their favorite objects, from a coveted style of furniture to an enchanting tale of previous ownership. While shopping, guests can also enjoy Christmas carols performed by a quartet from the Charleston Opera Theater as well as the Gibbes’ holiday decorations on display.
The Gibbes invites guests to stroll through the antique show on the first floor and enjoy a glass of wine from 6 p.m. – 7:30 pm. Vendors include Buxton Books, Croghan’s Jewel Box, George C. Birlant & Co., Goddess Collective, The Silver Vault of Charleston and Tucker Payne Antiques. Among this year’s treasures, expect one-of-a-kind estate pieces from Croghan’s, a collection of mid-century modern clothing from Goddess Collective and some titles on antiques and design from Buxton Books.
