Seabrookers Support Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic at Charity Event

On a beautiful afternoon, Seabrook’s Racquet Sports Club hosted its largest islandwide annual charity event of the year supporting Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic ( The biggest turnout ever included 44 tennis players and 20 pickleball players in a round robin social format. The event usually has raffles but this year, innovated to a silent auction. The items included evening box seats (best seats in the stadium!) for the Credit One Charleston Tennis Open for four separate nights generously donated by Hutchie and Jerry Cummin. Other highlights were a beach tote, pouch and matching towel from Lilly Pulitzer and a beautiful bag from J. McLaughlin. Both companies are repeat donors! Local artist and member of the Seabrook Art Guild, Debbe Falls Finkelstein, offered two beautiful original resin paintings.

Brenda Falls, Director of the Barrier Islands Free medical Clinic, was a guest speaker at the event. She described the mission of BIFMC during post event hospitality of pizza and beverages attended by many new community members. Seabrookers islandwide contributed to this formidable charity raising just over $10,000 – a high hurdle for next year’s event!
