Johns Island Roads—Public Meetings

Charleston County has developed revised alternative proposed road improvements for the so-called “Main Road Corridor Segment C” (an area bounded by the portion of Maybank Highway between intersections with Bohicket and River Roads, the portion of Bohicket Road between the intersection with Maybank Highway and the intersection with Betsy Kerrison Parkway and the portion of River Road between the intersection with Bohicket Road and the intersection with Maybank Highway).

The road improvements are being pursued with the express purpose of reducing traffic congestion and accommodating future traffic needs. In 2020, Charleston County held public meetings to present five alternative proposals for such road improvements. Since then, revised alternatives have been developed that will be presented to the public at meetings planned for April 28 and May 2.

The public meetings will include a presentation of the revised alternative proposals and allow public comment. Residents of Seabrook Island are encouraged to avail themselves of the opportunities to learn more about the alternative proposals and offer comments.
