The Together While Apart Art Project Headed to UVA

Last year Tidelines published a story about Seabrooker Deane Bowers and her project to create art with artists from across the country during the pandemic. The group of artists came together amidst pandemic conditions with the collective wish to combat isolation, loneliness, and unhappiness during an unsettled time. The result was The Together While Apart Art Project.

After traveling for the past 10 months on temporary exhibits at various medical centers throughout the Southeast, The Together While Apart Art Project will be permanently acquired and installed at The University of Virginia Medical Center in June 2022.

Because the project was created during the height of the pandemic, it has been dedicated to healthcare professionals. Bowers says, “This beautiful project has the power to be more than just something amazing and inspirational to look at. It has the ability to educate and create awareness.” May is National Nurse Appreciation Month as well as Mental Health Awareness Month. National Nurses Week is May 6-May 12.
