
Historic Charleston Foundation (HCF), Coastal Conservation League (CCL), and Preservation Society of Charleston (PSC) have been working in coordination on advocacy surrounding the future of Union Pier. They invite the Charleston community to continue the dialogue on the future of Union Pier Terminal at an Advocacy Forum on May 18. The redevelopment of Union Pier presents a critically important opportunity for Charleston.

The May 18 forum will feature a panel discussion on the Planned Unit Development for Union Pier that has been proposed by the State Ports Authority and Los Angeles-based developer Lowe and introduce an alternative proposal for redevelopment of the site. Discussion will focus on the planning process, open space, housing, density and design, resilience and flood mitigation, and the need for a more civically-oriented vision for the site. This forum is free and open to the public. RSVP encouraged.
