
Multidisciplinary artist Kate March will examine women’s experiences with endometriosis as a limited artist in residency at the Gibbes Museum of Art from July 30 – August 19. An acclaimed performance artist, choreographer, painter and poet, Kate explores her artistic voice through creating large scale paintings through movement on the canvas.
During her residency, she will paint six large-scale works with her body that represent five other women’s as well as her own experiences with endometriosis. Her residency will culminate with a final performance, Nether Space(s), on August 19 at 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm that will include the six large-scale works completed during her time at the Gibbes. In addition to the visual performance, there will be a wine reception, a brief panel discussion with the artist and women’s health professionals, and a post-performance opportunity to speak with the artist.
