For the past two years, Seabrook Island Property Owners Association (SIPOA) has been planning and preparing to replace stormwater pump station 2.
For those who do not know, stormwater pump station 2 is located near the corner of Seabrook Island Road and High Hammock Road on the Camp St. Christopher side of the island. It serves the largest stormwater drainage basin on the island and is a critical piece of the island’s stormwater infrastructure.
The new pump station will be equipped with two stormwater pumps for redundancy (the current pump station only has one) and a permanent backup generator that will allow the station to operate during a power outage. Bypass pumps will be used to maintain service during construction, which is beginning now. The project will take approximately 6 months to complete.
