Habitat Women Build – Apr 6 to 13

The Women Build week is a testament to the power of women uniting to make a positive impact in their community. Participants will roll up their sleeves alongside future homeowners to construct safe and affordable housing, fostering a sense of camaraderie, empowerment, and achievement.

Women from all walks of life come together to contribute their skills, time, and resources to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. In addition to volunteers giving their time and talent, they support our fundraising goal of $100,000 through peer-to-peer and individual donations. This goal will fund the materials used to build the house they are working on this week.

This year our Women Build home is being built for a female homeowner. The significance of a woman becoming a Habitat for Humanity homeowner is profound. Through homeownership, she breaks barriers, gains financial stability, and builds a foundation for herself and her family.

Sea Island Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization whose vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Since 1978, we have been working to provide affordable housing solutions for families in need across James, Johns, Wadmalaw Islands, and the surrounding areas. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, we empower families to achieve the dream of homeownership and create a lasting impact in our community by providing a hand up, not a hand out.
