Fourth of July Activities and Parade Rules

The Seabrook Island Fourth of July Parade is a long-standing tradition. Each year, both the number of parade participants and spectators increase. We have many young children (youth and preteens) on bicycles leading the parade, as well as an increasing number of LSVs full of families with young children celebrating Independence Day. Our goal is for this to be a fun and safe event for everyone.

The parade lineup will have a Dry Section at the beginning. All parade participants who would like to be dry will comprise the first part of the parade. The Johns Island fire engine signals the end of the dry section and the beginning of the Water Party. All parade participants who want to be part of the Water Party will follow the fire engine.

Parade Rules:

  • For safety reasons, ALL bicycle riders must line up at the FRONT of the parade and should be able to complete the 6.7 mile parade loop at a speed of 6mph.
  • Any type of vehicle allowed on Seabrook Island roads and able to maintain 10mph may take part in the parade.
  • Do not throw candy/items from vehicles in the parade. No water balloons allowed.
  • There will be 2 sections for vehicles: Dry and Wet
  • All parade participants must be in line on Seabrook Island Road in the Seabrook Village area by 9:00 am.
