Reminder: Challenges to your Mental Health November 2

Join Seabrook Island Village as they host a seminar on maintaining mental well-being on Saturday, November 2 from 1:30-3:00 pm in the Live Oak Hall at The Lake House. This seminar has a different focus from the recent brain health workshop held on October 19. The November 2 seminar has a focus on mental health in later life with an emphasis on depression.

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) geriatric psychiatrists, Mary Hart Bryan, MD, and Randi Curtiss, DO will conduct this session. Drs.  Bryan and Curtiss will discuss prevalence of mood alterations, including depression in older adults, depression versus normal grief, effective  therapies for mood alterations, healthy habits and routines, and indicators for seeking professional help. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and engage in dialogue.

This program was originally scheduled for March 2024, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

This seminar, sponsored by SIV, is free of charge and open to all Seabrook Island residents. Advanced registration required. Register at www.SeabrookIslandVillage.org
