Seabrook Island Community Response team is proud to announce that three Seabrook Island residents completed their CERT training March 14 & 15:
Bruce Ludwin, Mike Charland, Mike Shada
They will be joining the new group of CERTs who completed their training October 18 & 19, 2024:
Dave Berry, Ralph Finno, Larry Holditch, Sue Parkins, Deb Trum, Marty Trum
and also Carl Bergren who finished his training earlier in 2024.
In addition to the three completing their training this weekend, the following were re-certified:
Jim Sporn, Tory Kindley, Dave Vetta, Max Willis, Steve Pollock.
The training session held by Charleston County Emergency Management Division was attended by a record number of participants from Seabrook Island, Kiawah Island, Johns Island, and James Island. The total number attending was nearly 40 including James Island Mayor Brook Lyon and Town of Kiawah Councilman and Mayor Pro Tempore, Russell Berner.
Training for CERT involves four on-line courses followed by 16 hours of classroom instruction and a final exam.
