“Challenges to Your Mental Health: A Seminar on Maintaining Mental Well-Being”, sponsored by Seabrook Island Village, will take place on Saturday, April 12 from 1:30 to 3:00 pm in the Live Oak Hall at the Lake House on Seabrook Island.
Join Seabrook Island Village (SIV) for its next educational presentation on brain health and aging. This seminar has a different focus from SIV’s last brain health workshop held on October 19, 2024. Orginally scheduled for November 2, 2024, the subject of this seminar is mental health in later life, with an emphasis on depression. Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) geriatric psychiatrists, Mary Hart Bryan, MD, and Randi Curtiss, DO will lead the session. They will discuss the prevalence of mood alterations, including depression in older adults, depression versus normal grief, effective therapies for mood alterations, healthy habits and routines, and indicators for professional help. Participants can ask questions and engage in dialogue with Drs. Bryan and Curtiss.
This seminar is free of charge, open to all Seabrook Island and Kiawah River Estates residents and the public. Attendees must register in advance and online at www.SeabrookIslandVillage.org.
Hope to see you there!
