We still need your help!
Typically, at this time of year, Support Mt. Zion Kids! sends out an appeal to help us purchase the requested classroom supplies to enhance the learning of Mt. Zion Elementary School students. We still need your help, but as you may be aware, Mt. Zion will no longer be used as an elementary school, and there have been some changes to the structure of the elementary schools on Johns Island.
- Angel Oak Elementary is now called Angel Oak Primary School and will house children from Head Start through grade one. Anna Mims will be the principal, and most of the former Mt. Zion faculty will follow Ms. Mims to Angel Oak Primary.
- Children from grades two through five will attend the new Johns Island Elementary School. The principal is Judith Condon, who served as the Angel Oak Elementary School principal. Several teachers from the Mt. Zion staff will be working in this new building. The school is located at 2950 Claybrook Street, which is located off River Road.
Currently, we will be helping with the library and counseling programs at Angel Oak and will explore ways to help the students and teachers at Johns Island Elementary. As programs develop, we will share how you can further support the children and families in need on Johns Island
The Support Mt. Zion Kids! name will remain, and we will retain the 501(c) (3) status. As always, we appreciate your support,
