Labor Day Weekend Holiday Hours

Labor Day 2025 will be observed on Monday, September 1. According to History.com, Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. It was created by the labor movement in the late nineteenth century and became a federal holiday in 1894. Labor Day weekend also symbolizes the end of the summer season for many Americans.

It is one of eleven federal holidays observed nationally by the US Government. In addition, South Carolina State Government offices are closed as are many banks and businesses.

Holiday hours for the 2025 Labor Day weekend

Trash / Recycling pick-up for single-family properties will be on Tuesday, September 2, instead of Monday. Multi-family properties will be on Tuesday, September 2, and Friday, September 5. Please note the date change for Brown & White Pickup this month due to the holiday. It will be Friday, September 12.

SIPOA offices will be closed Monday, September 1, and reopen on Tuesday, September 2, with normal hours. No contractor work from Saturday, August 30, through Monday, September 1.

The Lake House will be open with regular hours.

Town of Seabrook Island offices are normally closed on Saturdays and Sundays.  In addition, they will also be closed on Monday, September 1, for the holiday. They will reopen on Tuesday, September 2, with normal hours. Reminder: The office will be closed on Friday, August 29, for AC maintenance. Employees will be working from home.

Vincent’s Pharmacy is normally closed on Sundays and they will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 1. They will reopen on Tuesday, September 2, with normal hours.

Post and Computer Center is closed on Sundays. In addition, they will also be closed on Monday, September 1, for the holiday.  They will reopen on Tuesday, September 2, with normal hours.

Harris Teeter will be open all weekend, including Monday, September 1, with normal hours.
