Monet & Mimosas
Sunday, August 9 | 1:00 – 2:00 pm
Celebrate the centennial of Claude Monet’s passing with Monet & Mimosas, a new Member program at the Gibbes Museum of Art. Every Second Sunday while the extraordinary Monet landscapes from the new Monet exhibition are on view, guests will enjoy mimosas in the Campbell Rotunda followed by a guided tour. This special exhibition, which features three works on loan from the Gregg Turk Foundation, offers a closer look at the legacy of one of the world’s most celebrated Impressionist painters and explores Monet’s enduring influence on modern art and American artists.
Mimosas begin at 1:00 pm in the Campbell Rotunda. Tour begins at 1:30 pm. Guests are invited to enjoy beverages in the Rotunda before the gallery tour.

The Art of Jazz: Quiana Parler
Wednesday, August 19 | 6:00 – 7:00 pm
As lead vocalist, lyricist, and composer for internationally and critically acclaimed Grammy Award-winning roots music group Ranky Tanky, Parler spent weeks at #1 on several Billboard Jazz charts. Quiana has spent over 20 years as the most sought-after vocalist in the Lowcountry. Known locally for years, she rose to national prominence after her success in the 2003 season of American Idol.
Her vocals on Ranky Tanky’s eponymous debut album have drawn praise and acclaim from some of the nation’s most discerning and respected music critics. Parler uses her artistry to bring the cultural and musical heritage of the SC Lowcountry to some of the most prestigious stages in the US and Europe, like Norway’s Moldejazz and New York City’s Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.
