It’s hard to believe summer is coming to an end! This year, Labor Day is celebrated on Monday, September 7. According to History.com, Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. It was created by the labor movement in the late nineteenth century and became a federal holiday in 1894.
It is one of eleven federal holidays observed nationally by the US Government, which means the Post Office and banks will be closed, as are many businesses.
Revised Garbage, Recycling, and Yard Pickup for the Week
- Single-family homes will have garbage and recycling service on Tuesday, September 8.
- Villas and condos will have garbage service on Tuesday, September 8, and Friday, September 11, and recycling service on Wednesday, September 9.
- Yard trash pickup will be on Thursday, September 10.
Holiday Hours for the 2026 Labor Day Weekend
SIPOA offices and Architectural Review & Commercial Access Offices will be closed Monday, September 7, and reopen on Tuesday, September 2, with normal hours. No contractor work from Saturday, September 5 through Monday, September 7.
The Lake House will be open with regular hours.
Town of Seabrook Island office is closed on Saturday and Sunday. In addition, they will also be closed on Monday, September 7, for the holiday. They will reopen on Tuesday, September 8, with normal hours.
Vincent’s Pharmacy is closed on Sunday, and they will be closed on Monday, September 7. They will reopen on Tuesday, September 8, with normal hours.
Post and Computer Center is closed on Sunday. In addition, they will also be closed on Monday, September 7, for the holiday. They will reopen on Tuesday, September 8, with normal hours.
Harris Teeter will be open all weekend, including Monday, September 7, with normal hours.
