According to The Johns Island Advocate, the roundabout at the Main-River-Chisolm Roads intersection that is being constructed is scheduled to open to traffic at 6:00 am on Monday, October 19. This is part of Main Road Corridor Segment A.
In preparation for the opening, crews will work through the weekend to complete final preparations. Beginning Friday, October 16 at 7:00 pm, the part of River Rd by the roundabout will be closed. River Rd will reopen Monday morning.
During the closure, drivers who typically use River Road to travel to Main Road will be detoured via Old Pond Rd. The traffic signal at the intersection will remain operational during the closure.
Expect delays over the weekend traveling in that area. Drive carefully and be alert.
