Chairman Kortvelesy informed the Planning Committee (PC) we will review prior years’ reports for impact on the 2017 Strategic Plan. He also reported the SIPOA Board is in the process of forming an ad hoc committee to address the issue of homes in disrepair.
The Audubon subcommittee reported they have had orientation meetings and discussions with 10 new Champions (members). Articles will be published in the Seabrooker and Tidelines to communicate the 3 Pillars of the Audubon program.
The Finance subcommittee reported we are on budget to date and a Long Range Reserve study will be completed using a consultant.
The Data Gathering and Analysis subcommittee reported the Annual Survey input has been closed and is in the process of being analyzed. Results will be shared with the PC prior to or at the May meeting to be used in preparing the 2017 Strategic Plan.
The Chairman communicated that the GOMC Committee had a High Tide Impact Study completed after the events of the October 2015 flooding. It shows we do well in normal rain events but need improvements in flooding situations.
Another topic under study is charging stations for electric vehicles.
The PC re-evaluated the issues in the 2-25 year period of prior Strategic Plans to determine which were resolved or still relevant. This exercise will continue at the May and June meetings of the PC.
The PC normally meets the second Tuesday of each month in the Lake House. All property owners are welcome to attend. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, May 10, at 9am in the Osprey 1 room.
