Renowned Seabrook artist Mary Whyte received the 2016 Gold Medal Award of the Portrait Society of America to a standing ovation at its conference in Reston, Virginia. The annual award “honors a lifelong dedication to excellence, as well as recognition of a distinguished body of work that serves to enhance fine art portraiture and figurative works in America.”
Past recipients of the award have included Andrew Wyeth, Philip Pearlstein, Burton Silverman and Jamie Wyeth.
