On April 25, twelve fortunate Seabrook Island Natural History Group members visited the St. Jude Oyster Farm in the Ace Basin. Two hours were spent on the Ashepoo and Edisto Rivers learning about the wild oyster beds, the floating holding cages and cultivated beds. Upon returning to the facility, we gathered more knowledge about harvesting, sorting and shipping methods. A beautiful day and wonderful learning experience! Many thanks to Jim Lawrence for arranging this!
