According to a briefing from the National Weather Service-Charleston the current track of TS Hermine could pass over the coastal areas of South Carolina late Thursday into Friday. Rip currents continue to be a high risk for the beaches.
Impacts:
-1 to 2 feet inundation is possible mainly Friday
-For our area we could see winds gusts 45-55 mph possible along the coastal areas on Friday around 12 pm-2pm
-Moderate risk for heavy rain Thursday night and Friday
-Marginal to slight risk of isolated tornadoes Thursday night and Friday
-Risk of coastal flooding and beach erosion around the time of high tide this evening and again Thursday and Friday
With the approach of a long weekend EMD asked that County EOC staff stay alert. We will continue to monitor and send out any updates on this situation as they may occur.
