Grant said he and his assistant coaches recruit players who are more than just talented athletes on the courts. Their team members must be community oriented, trustful and have the drive and desire to excel academically. Over the summer months, players are involved in community service projects and serve as interns in addition to their physical training routines.

Earl Grant has signed a 5-year contract with the College of Charleston through the 2022 season. He encouraged all exchange members to come down to the TD Arena on George Street this fall, support his basketball players and capture their winning spirit. Grant considers himself to be “The Luckiest Guy in the World” having grown up in North Charleston and having the privilege to coach in his hometown. Go Cougars!
