Report from Berkeley Electric Cooperative

Berkeley Electric Cooperative reports,

“As of 8 am this morning outage numbers have been reduced to around 12,000.

After assessing the system, it appears that only a few poles broke due to the storm. Most outages are related to debris and tree limbs which should speed up repairs. We anticipate getting the majority of services on by this evening.

Water is still the main issue and in some locations we will have to wait until water recedes – especially along the coast where storm surge (salt water) has compromised underground transformers.

Mutual aid arrives today and will be assisting restoration efforts.”
