BIFMC Welcomes New Board Members

Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic recently inducted five new members from the community to serve on the Board of Directors.

New additions to the Board include David Dunlap, former CEO of Roper St. Francis Healthcare; Michael Blanton, Product Marketing Leader at Blackbaud; Margaret Macauley, former Educator and Volunteer; Sherry Mason, former Financial Officer at Mason & Associates; and ex officio appointment, Cynthia Cronk, former Human Resources Director at University of California, Santa Barbara.

David Dunlap has been a healthcare executive for over 45 years. He was appointed President and CEO of Roper St. Francis Healthcare (RSFH) in Charleston, SC in 2003, and served until his retirement in January 2017. Prior to assuming his duties in Charleston, SC, he served as President and CEO of Memorial Medical Center, which includes Baptist Hospital and Mercy Hospitals in New Orleans.

Michael Blanton has served as the Product Marketing Leader at Blackbaud, leading nonprofit cloud management software organization, since 2012. Blanton has over 17 years experience in healthcare corporate finance and strategy analysis; he served previously as a board member for United Way of Cobb County, GA.

Margaret Macauley has taught and counseled students across the southeast for over 36 years and has held various leadership positions for local schools and churches.

Sherry Mason has served as an educator and more recently as a financial officer for an executive search firm, Mason & Associates.

Cynthia Cronk served as the Human Resources Director at University of California, Santa Barbara, and also serves as the Human Resources Manager for the clinic as a volunteer. You can read more about Cronk’s work in a recent Volunteer Spotlight.
