The following is an operational update from SIPOA.
Potential Standing Water on Roadways
On Thursday October 11, you are likely to encounter standing water on sections of SIPOA roadways. The high tide on Thursday will be much higher than normal (7.1′) and will occur at 10:33 am. We are also expecting to get 1-3 inches or more of rain from Tropical Storm Michael throughout the day. You can expect to encounter standing water on sections of the roadways from approximately 8:00 am until 1:00 pm or later. Please exercise caution when driving on the island and do not attempt to drive through standing water that may be too deep for your vehicle to pass through.
Steve Hirsch, PE, PMP, Director of Engineering
Potential High Winds
We anticipate 1-3 inches or more of rain with sustained winds of 25-30mph and gusts of 40-45mph. We may experience some downed trees and limbs. Due to potential high winds and possible bridge closures, the SIPOA Administrative Office will be closed tomorrow, October 11. The Lake House will be open for “after-hours” amenity card access but not staffed. Thursday fitness classes are also cancelled. The Security gate will be fully-staffed and operational. Contractors may work as usual during regular contractor hours.
Lawn/leaf bags at 50cents each will be available at the SIPOA Administrative office on Friday during normal office hours.
Stay safe!
