Give back to your furry friends by bringing them out Pet Fest to experience a day of fun, frolic, and exploration at Palmetto Islands County Park. Pets and their owners are invited to join us for exhibits, demonstrations, experts, entertainment, and more at Charleston’s premier pet festival! Sponsored by the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission.

Hours and Admission

  • 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Carpooling is encouraged, as parking is limited.
  • $8 per person. (Save $3 per person with pet food or pet supply donation.)
  • Free for children 12 and under and Gold Pass members.


  • Swift Paws Lure Chasing: Let your dog race for a $10 donation.
  • Dog washing stations: Clean up your pup for $5 donation.
  • Meet local rescue groups and centers with adoptable animals. You might also meet your new best friend! Adopt a forever friend from the Charleston Animal Society on-site at Pet Fest and receive a free Individual Park Pass membership!
  • Visit with veterinarians, trainers, groomers, and pet suppliers to learn more about nutrition, education, and training.
  • Take the Canine Good Citizens Test and the Canine Good Community Test to see if your dog is ready for certification!
  • Check out STARR (Search, Tactics, And Rescue/Recovery) Team demonstrations
  • Enjoy children’s activities and jump castles. Kids play all day with $5 wristband.
  • Food and beverages are available for sale. An ID is required to purchase alcohol. Outside food, alcohol, and coolers are prohibited.

  • 11:30 am Dog parade
  • 12:30 pm Top Dog Mascot winner announcement and pet contests (Best Trick, Owner Pet Look-Alike, Face Only a Mother Could Love, Musical Sit, Best Dog Costume)
  • 2:00 pm  Charleston Kennel Club’s “Meet the Breed” Family Dog Show
  • 3:00 pm Pet contests (Best Trick, Owner Pet Look-Alike, Face Only a Mother Could Love, Musical Sit, Best Dog Costume)
