The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30 and is quickly approaching! Emergency preparedness is especially important for residents of barrier island communities.

Please plan to attend the Disaster Awareness Day on Friday, June 14, 2019, from 10:00 am  – 12:00 noon  at the Seabrook Island House, co-sponsored by the Town of Kiawah Island and the Town of Seabrook Island.

This program will focus on hurricane preparedness covering preparation, evacuation, and return. Valuable prizes will be raffled off throughout the event! A complimentary lunch will follow the presentations. No RSVP is required.

Don’t miss an opportunity to get a crash course in hurricane preparedness and learn how our community will handle a hurricane scenario.  It’s also a great opportunity for residents to speak to our emergency management officials in one place.
