BIFMC Seeks Nurse Volunteers

Know a practicing or retired RN with time to spare and a will to give back? Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic, located on Johns Islands, SC, has treated over 4000 low income, uninsured adults across the Lowcountry – and need help in continuing their mission! The Clinic currently seeks Nurse Volunteers who have an active SC license (or is willing to apply for one) and is able to use the EMR system. Days and times volunteered are flexible, though the ideal candidate will maintain a schedule of one part-time day per week.
Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic is an extraordinary example of what can be accomplished when a group of talented volunteers work together. Thanks to over 138 health care volunteers, nurses and physicians, the free clinic has continued to provide high quality and compassionate primary and specialty care to adults without health insurance for more than a decade. Now located in a brand new, seven exam room facility, BIFMC seeks to expand their volunteer base in order to treat even more adults in the community who are in need of care.

The Clinic currently provides eligible, low-income adults with:

Free orthopedics
Free dermatology
Free cardiology
Free gynecology
Free urology
Reproductive health planning Mammograms & screenings
Free psychiatry
On-going chronic disease management
Free labs & imaging

 and more!

Our community cares, and The Clinic is poised to make a real difference in the lives of our Lowcountry neighbors. Please contact info@bifmc.org to learn more, or apply today at www.bifmc.org!
