By Executive Order 2020-15, the Governor of South Carolina has extended school closures through April 30,2020. To protect the health and safety of our residents, staff and guests, all SIPOA facilities will remain closed through April 30, 2020. We will evaluate recommendations from health officials at that time to determine if it is safe to reopen.
The order also states: “it is unlawful for a person to violate a provision in the proclamation including, but not limited to, any curfew set forth by the proclamation; congregate, unless authorized or in their homes, in groups of three or more and to refuse to disperse upon order of a law enforcement officer; or willfully fail or refuse to comply with any lawful order or direction of any law enforcement officer.” Violators are “guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined not more than one hundred dollars or imprisoned for not more than thirty days.”

We’ve received questions about why the basketball hoops were removed from the Lake House basketball area. First, the Lake House facility is closed. Second, and more importantly, for health and safety reasons – this discourages gatherings and helps maintain social distancing.
