Donate Your Gently Used Books

The library at The Lake House is one of the wonderful conveniences that SIPOA provides. It was sorely missed during the pandemic, when many of us had to purchase books. But it is open again!

Cindy Willis, librarian extraordinaire, has asked for clean, gently used, current fiction. Now is the time to clean off your bookshelves of the novels you have enjoyed and share them with your fellow Seabrookers. If you see Cindy at work in the library, please thank her for all her efforts. She is a volunteer and spends quite a bit of time sorting and shelving books.

Do you need some suggestions about what to read? Check out our column “Seabrookers Are Reading” to see what your neighbors are recommending. You can access past columns by going to our website, www.tidelinesbog.com, and clicking on “Seabrookers Are Reading and Watching” on the menu bar. The current year is listed with links to 2019 and 2020 lists. Since the library is supported by donations, all the books may not be available when you go to the library.

If you have a favorite book that you would like to recommend, take a minute and send us an email with the following information:

  • Include your name (although it will not be published), the title, and author of the book you are recommending and email this to Tidelines at seabrookislandblog@gmail.com. (You may be able to click on the email address to open a new message.)
  • For audiobooks, include the name of the narrator.
  • Tidelines editors will provide a blurb to tell a little about the book and add the book jacket image.
  • Publication is at the discretion of Tidelines editors.
