A Letter From SINHG’s President

Now that Covid–19 figures appear to be moving in the right direction, the Seabrook Island Natural History Group is in severe need of volunteers to help restore activities to pre-COVID levels. Each year, SINHG – a totally volunteer-run organization – offers about 80 SINHG Trips and six Evening Programs per year, and we need your help to return to full operations.

You can help by:

  • Becoming a trip leader –Trip leaders can select where they want to lead a group (we also can offer suggestions for possible trips), and can choose the dates for their trips. As a Trip leader, your trip is free and your significant other is guaranteed a spot, too. Paperwork is minimal.
  • Volunteering to help with an Evening Program – SINHG needs people to help setup chairs and snack tables, and to tear down and clean up after each program.
  • Becoming a board member – SINHG has a 13-member board that meets one or two hours a month from September through April. Each member serves a two-year term.

Thank you for considering this wonderful opportunity to get involved in a great organization on a great island. You can fill out our online volunteer form at sinhg.org/volunteer. I’d be happy to chat with you about opportunities in person, via email, or on the phone.

Warm Regards
