Come learn and celebrate Flag Day and Carolina Day, one of the first victories of the American Revolution at the Battle for Fort Moultrie. Presentations on the history of the U.S. flag, flag etiquette, and the Revolutionary War soldiers of the American Southern Continental Army that camped here at Middleton Place in 1782! On June 19 Middleton Place will be holding a series of programs to celebrate this special day. Programs will include theatrical presentations, Beyond the Fields documentary viewings, and other hands-on crafts and activities.

In 1776, Arthur Middleton and 55 other members of the Continental Congress signed the Declaration of Independence, thereby creating the United States of America. To mark this occasion, Middleton Place is hosting its annual three day Independence Celebration.

- Junior Historian Summer Camp ◊ July 18-22
Middleton Place will immerse young people in South Carolina history by introducing them to one of America’s Founding Families and to the daily activities of a working Low Country rice plantation. The summer camp is filled with hands-on activities and demonstrations, and personalized tours and programs specially prepared by the professional staff at Middleton Place. The fun and educational programs will provide valuable real-life experience and will inspire the next generation with an interest in history, social studies, science, and art.
