Thanksgiving day dawned partly cloudy with an ideal 56-degree temperature for the annual (just over) 5K Turkey Trot. Over 300 enthusiastic runners, walkers, and their fans gathered at The Lake House. Wearing their specially-designed race day tee shirts, children, adults, and dogs on leashes lined up together at the start area. At exactly 8:00 am, the siren blared, and the participants headed onto the course. Twenty minutes later, the first runner returned to The Lake House followed by the rest of the pack. All were greeted with kudos by the onlookers. Special thanks to Nic Porter, Jamie Mixson, The Lake House staff, and the volunteers for organizing and managing this terrific event and for all the spectators who cheered on the runners.

The Seabrook Island Thanksgiving Art and Crafts Show and Sale was held on Black Friday, November 25, at The Lake House. A steady stream of people came out to see the interesting array of artworks and craft items created by talented Seabrookers. Works included original paintings in several mediums, photography, note cards, jewelry, painted dishes and glassware, baskets, weavings, adorned serving pieces, and more. Thank you to the many artisans for displaying artwork for Seabrookers, families, and friends to enjoy.
